As of right now, Runza does not make their own ranch. They used to, back in the day when the restaurant was first starting out. However, they decided to outsource that particular condiment and now get their ranch from a company called Dipping Dots.

What’s in ranch dressing
Ranch dressing is one of the most popular salad dressings in the United States. It is made from a combination of buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise, and is typically flavored with herbs and spices. While the ingredients in ranch dressing may vary slightly from brand to brand, the base of the dressing is always the same.
This makes it a relatively simple dressing to make at home, with just a few key ingredients. Buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise are the base of most ranch dressings. Buttermilk is a fermented dairy product that has a slightly sour and tangy flavor.
It is this flavor that helps to balance out the richness of the mayonnaise in the dressing. Sour cream is another dairy product, but it is made from cream that has been treated with lactic acid bacteria. This gives it a slightly sour flavor, as well as a thicker consistency.
Mayonnaise is a thick, creamy condiment made from egg yolks, oil, and vinegar. It is this ingredient that gives ranch dressing its signature creamy texture. Herbs and spices are added to ranch dressing to give it flavor.
The most common herbs used in ranch dressing are dill, parsley, and chives. However, other herbs, such as basil, thyme, and oregano, can also be used.
Buttermilk ranch dressing is a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet salad dressing that’s perfect for dipping, tossing, or drizzling on just about anything. It’s made with buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, onion, and herbs, and it’s insanely easy to whip up at home. Buttermilk ranch dressing is my all-time favorite salad dressing.
I love its creamy texture and tangy flavor, and it’s the perfect finishing touch to any salad or veggie dish. Plus, it’s super easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients. To make buttermilk ranch dressing, simply whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, onion, and your favorite herbs.
I like to use dill and chives, but feel free to experiment with other herbs like parsley or thyme. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld. Once your buttermilk ranch dressing is chilled, it’s ready to use.
Drizzle it over a salad, use it as a dip for crudités or chips, or toss it with roasted veggies. It’s also great as a sandwich or wrap spread. Enjoy!
